Day 05 - Wednesday, 11/13/24 - Day 4 At Sea

Overnight the seas became rougher as the Captain had indicated would happen.  Throughout the day there were whitecaps and the outside decks were closed off.  In the Lido pool area there was the constant wave action from the sloshing pool water.  The decks were continually being swabbed to keep them clear of the former pool water.  A few hardy souls braced to swim in the surging pool currents. But enough of the weather report.

Our day started out with the Interdenominational devotional at 8am and followed by Nick's coffee chat with the staff Captain, Rakesh from India.  He was engaging and noted that the master of the vessel will be showing pictures of the drydock activities later in the cruise.  The Pinnacle Grill chef and the Executive chef then did a cooking demonstration in the Wajang theater featuring one item from an upcoming popup Morimito dinner which we are planning to attend.  Nick finished out the morning with his port talk on Livorno.

I should add that I'm only reporting on what we did, and not what's available.  Below is a picture of today's program showing all of the options. It's a really full schedule which is unique to Legendary and Grand voyages.

After lunch in the Lido Pool area (the hotdog was good, but not as good as a Costco dog in my opinion), we attended 3 hours of lectures:  Kate Ross gave an excellent lecture on the history of Portugal, Michael Sullivan wove an intriguing tale to explain the hidden double meaning of a Frank Millet painting, Brian Beck described the formation of the English navy into a super power in the 1700's.

Our private shore excursion held a brief meet and greet which was good to meet one another.

After our LIDO dinner, cellist Andrei Cavassi performed a terrific and emotional solo concert.

We finished out our evening watching the /3rd movie in the DaVinci Code series, Inferno.  Fortunately tonight we don't lose an hour of sleep due to click changes, but I fear another is coming tomorrow night.
