Day 10 - Monday, 11/18/24 - At Sea to Casablanca - Day 1

Overnight the seas became much calmer.  Our day was pretty much the same routine as the 6 sea days of the crossing to the Azores.  The morning devotional was followed by Nick's coffee chat with Stacy, Training Manager.  Per her presentation there are a lot of training and advancement opportunities within HAL.  She was followed by Kate Ross speaking on the Golden Age of Spain and Nick's port talk on Catania, Sicily.  After lunch Michael Sullivan spoke on the first of two talks on Periods & 'ism's' in Art like in Romanticism.  Again it was good.  Brian Beck ended the afternoon with his talk 'Lady Emma' mistress of Admiral Nelson.  She definitely led a torrid life and couldn't control her spending habits. This was the best of his talks so far and was well attended.

We learned that the photoshop could put a map of our itinerary on a mug along with a ship's picture.  So we bought a pair of mugs as a memento of the cruise.

We spent the remainder of the afternoon in the Crow's Nest reading and watching the calm seas pass by. Following dinner in the Lido, the Repertory Company performed a high energy show about rock & roll focused on the '50's to the '70's music and ending with the Queen song, Bohemian Rhapsody.  With the flat seas we elected to go to bed early especially since this was the second night in a row of losing an hour due to clock changes.  It's another day at sea tomorrow.
